Complaints about mail delivery and overall post office service have been rampant in Georgia the past year or so – and now the Postal Service (USPS) Inspector General’s IG) office has issued a scathing report on an investigation into the operation of post offices in several middle Georgia cities.
The report revealed “significant delays and reporting failures” at post offices in Gray, Macon, Perry, and Warner Robins. The audit found over 792 undelivered packages in Warner Robins alone, with management failing to report the delayed mail.
13 WMAZ reports that the Postal Service has acknowledged the audit’s findings and is working to improve service by providing training on the required “redline process” for tracking undelivered mail.
