Acting on a tip from the FBI and GBI, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 17-year-old overnight Sunday in connection with an alleged threat made to an unnamed school.
Sheriff Kevin McCook says Christopher Aiden Banks, 17, is charged with one felony count of Terroristic Threats and Acts regarding online threats toward school students.
“Christopher is home schooled and no specific school was named,” Sheriff McCook said. “The incident appears to be isolated, and the investigation is still ongoing. Family members have been cooperative with law enforcement. All county schools were notified.”
And McCook issued a plea that has become common when such arrests are made.
“Parents please talk to your children. Discuss the serious nature of these types of threats and comments. We will continue to hold people accountable…”
