A driver’s license kiosk has now been okayed for Dawson County by the county tax commissioner and the state’s motor vehicle department.
It is located at the Dawsonville Kroger Marketplace and is one of 15 additional kiosks recently approved by the state. Hall County has two for some time – one at the Kroger on Winder Highway and one on Spout Springs Road. But Hall County residents can also use the one now operational in Dawson County.
In fact, that’s true of anyone in any surrounding counties, except Lumpkin and that’s because Lumpkin is not a participant in the state’s kiosk program. And there are limits, for now, to what you can use the kiosk in Dawson County for. You can renew your vehicle tag registration, but it won’t be until later this month, at the earliest, before you can renew your driver’s license, too.
