In just one week, the newest tower at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville is scheduled to open its doors. And an open house is planned to give the public a preview of the 927,000- square-foot, 11-story addition.
The open house is Saturday, 1:00-4:00.
Here’s what’s included in the new structure: the new location of the emergency department, dedicated heart care floors provided by Georgia Heart Institute, 150 additional inpatient beds, a new café, new greenspace, a helipad atop the tower, and parking deck with more than 450 parking spaces for patients, visitors and staff.
Just a week ago, hospital officials issued an “important” notice to expectant mothers. You can read it here in this earlier story which was posted a week ago: NGHS note for expectant mothers
