The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) inland port which is under construction in the East Hall area is now 50 percent complete. That was among the items included in a GPA report Tuesday.
And GPA President and CEO Griff Lynch says it is on target to open next year.
In addition, Lynch said a similar facility, the Appalachian Regional Port in northwest Georgia, saw an increase of 13.5 percent in the number of containers it handled between July and December last year compared to a year earlier. December volumes alone were up 20.6 percent over December 2023.
