For the second time in less than a week, there has been a traffic accident on Georgia 365 at Wilbanks Road in Habersham County. Only this time there was a fatality. The state patrol says Matthew Bridges, 34, Lula, died in the crash which occurred about 9:30 Saturday morning.
Troopers say the driver of a Toyota Prius (James Purdy, 79, Alto) failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign and entered the roadway into the path of Kia Forte (driven by Bridges). The Prius was struck in the driver’s side. Both drivers were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville…”
The earlier accident occurred Tuesday and injured a Gainesville woman, though not seriously.
