Something new on the GHS campus

There’s something new patrolling the the Gainesville High campus these days. Well, at least something with a new look.

Read all about it in this Gainesville Police Department Facebook post:

“Yes, it’s a red elephant with blue lights. When it came time to design our new GHS SRO vehicle we knew we wanted student input. The GHS graphic design students took the lead on the project. Jose Romero, a student of GHS, successfully designed the new vehicle.

“As an agency, community involvement and partnerships are paramount to success. A quality project such as this, allows us to foster positive relationships with the community and deepen our commitment to the communities we serve,” Chief Jay Parish said. “This vehicle serves as a visual reminder of our dedication to the overall protection of the Gainesville City School System and the students they serve.”
