‘People’s March’ this weekend in Cumming

With the presidential inauguration just days away, a march is planned in Cumming Saturday promoting reproductive, voting and LGBTQA rights among other things.

Organized by Anita Tucker, who led a group to Washington in 2017 to speak against Donald Trump as he was preparing to take office the first time, the march will step off at 12:30 at the gazebo in front of the Forsyth County Courthouse Annex building in Cumming.

“We will start the event with inspirational speakers,” Tucker said.  “Then a short march around the Cumming square, past (U.S.) Rep. Rich McCormick’s (R-Suwanee) office.  “Signs expressing what you are marching for (reproductive freedom, democracy, voting rights, LGBTQA rights,…) are encouraged.”

Other marches are planned around the county leading up to Trump’s inauguration Monday. Others in Georgia include Acworth, Atlanta, and Tucker.
