Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators have charged a 20-year-old Clermont man with child molestation following an investigation that began last year.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
Fausto Gregorio Romero turned himself in at Sheriff Office Headquarters on Tuesday morning. He is charged with one count of child molestation (a felony).
According to the preliminary investigation, Romero molested a young girl at his residence in the 5000 block of Bethel Road in July of 2023. Romero knew the victim, who was visiting from out of state, prior to the crime.
Deputies first learned about the incident last October, when a family member of the victim reported it, after the victim disclosed it.
Following Romero’s arrest, deputies transported him to the Hall County Jail, where he remained without bond on Wednesday afternoon.
The HCSO continues to investigate the case.
