The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has released additional information concerning the apparent suicide that was discovered at Alberta Banks Park Saturday.
“Just before noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025, deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were dispatched to Alberta Banks Park in Flowery Branch in response to a 911 call about a possible suicide,” a statement released Tuesday afternoon says. “Officers with the Flowery Branch Police Department (FBPD) also responded to the scene. HCSO deputies contacted an agency investigator to respond as well.
“A family member discovered the body of the victim…in a stall at (a) park bathroom. The victim died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body has been sent to the medical examiner for autopsy.”
The sheriff’s office had issued an appeal about 1:00 Saturday afternoon, asking the public to stay away from the South Hall park because of “an active investigation.” An update later that afternoon revealed that it involved an apparent suicide. UPDATE: Apparent suicide victim found at S. Hall park
