Ga. Power rate hike OK’d; State student loan program halted

*If you are a Georgia Power customer, you’ll be paying more for electricity next year. *A student loan program in Georgia has been discontinued after an audit found users have been failing to pay back their debt. The Student Access Loan program began in 2012 and gave out more than $260 million in loans to about 36,000 students. The audit in 2022 found more than 30% of borrowers defaulted on their loans through the program.
