UPDATED: Gville rape suspect back in Hall County

A man wanted for child molestation and rape since April in Hall County is behind bars in Gainesville following his extradition from Marion County, Indiana. Hall County Jail personnel booked Andreas Alonzo Perez, 31, into jail on Tuesday.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested Alonzo Perez in Indianapolis on Friday, July 26, and the order upon request for extradition was signed by a judge in Indiana on Nov. 1.

Alonzo Perez is charged with the crimes against a female victim, who is under the age of 10, at a residence in South Hall County on the evening of March 30. Perez, who knew the victim prior to the abuse, fled from the residence on foot after the incident. A family member of the victim reported the crimes to Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies on the evening they occurred.

The HCSO featured Alonzo Perez in BOLO (be on the lookout) and Wanted Wednesday posts on social media while he was a fugitive. He was being held without bond in the Hall County Jail on Wednesday morning.

EARLIER STORY. POSTED WEDNESDAY MORNING: An alleged rapist from Gainesville who was arrested in August in Indiana is back in Hall County and is being held without bond in the county jail. Andreas Alonzo Perez, 31, was returned to Gainesville Tuesday, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) records. He is charged with rape and child molestation.

Warrants for his arrest were issued April 8.

According to the preliminary investigation, Perez committed the crimes against the female victim, who was under the age of 10, at a residence in South Hall March 30. Perez, who knew the victim prior to the abuse, fled from the residence on foot after the incident. A family member of the victim reported the crimes to deputies on the evening they occurred.
