A teenager from Mexico has been arrested for the sexual assault of a Hall County girl earlier this year, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Israel Jaimes Sanchez, 17, was booked at the Hall County Jail on Friday after he was taken into custody at the Atlanta airport, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman said Monday..
“The investigation determined the suspect’s parents had sent Sanchez to Hall County to live with relatives so that he could attend school in the United States,” B.J. Williams said. “The victim in the case, a girl under the age of 16, reported the ongoing assaults to someone at school, and at that point, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation.”
Investigators determined Sanchez had inappropriately touched the girl on multiple occasions, Williams added. “He also forced the victim to perform oral sex on him. The assaults began in January of this year and continued through March. At that time, the suspect moved to Virginia to live with his father who had traveled to the U.S. for seasonal work.”
Sanchez has been charged with aggravated sexual battery (felony), aggravated child molestation (misdemeanor) and child molestation (misdemeanor). Even though Sanchez was 16 at the time of the crimes, he has been charged as an adult in the case.
Sanchez remained in jail Monday morning with no bond.
