A veteran Gainesville fireman and his family lost everything in a fire at their Rabun County home last weekend.
According to the Rabun County Fire Department (RCFD), units from five stations responded to the “fully involved” Saturday night fire.
“For those who haven’t heard or don’t know, this was the residence of Warwoman Fire 1st Lieutenant and city of Gainesville Battalion Chief Travis Bleckley, wife and Warwoman Firefighter Holden,” a posting on the RCFD Facebook page reads. “Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. The house was a total loss along with all of the contents.”
An account has been opened for any donations at the Rabun County Bank in the name of Travis and Gayla Bleckley.
