GWINNETT PD NEWS RELEASE:
“On August 18, at 7:44 p.m., Gwinnett Police was notified from Hall County of an elderly missing man possibly driving around in Gwinnett County (who had last been seen about four hours earlier at his home).
Analysts on duty were able to locate the missing man (Alfred Larson, 97) in his vehicle utilizing Flock cameras throughout the county. An officer on duty was able to catch up to the elderly man and get him to pull over on Sugarloaf Parkway at Lawrenceville Highway. The man told the officer he was lost. The officer called his family and waited until they arrived to ensure the man got back home safe.
This is a good example of how technology is being used to keep the community safe. Not only is this used to fight crime and help detectives solve cases, but it also allows analysts behind the scenes to provide officers on the road with real-time information and help return a lost elderly man home safely to his family.”
