Here’s your Hall County election day guide:
*While most of the attention leading up to today has focused on the presidential election, there are a number of contested local races on the ballot although not every voter will find every one of them on his or her ballot depending on where in the county they live. There are also several constitutional amendments and the Transportation Sales Tax question which is the last item on the ballot. Click here to see a list of everything to be voted on in the county: CONSOLIDATED-BALLOT_FROM-PROJ-PCKGE
*There are 31 polling places in the county. You’ll find the list here: 2024-Election-Day-Polling-Locations
*The weather should cooperate if you are heading to the polls with only a slight chance of a few showers primarily in the morning.
*Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger held a news conference Monday and said the state is ready and that because of the record number of early voters (4 million-plus) he expects the vote count to be much faster than it was four years ago and that voters will encounter shorter lines than in 2020. He also noted that a new law allows election officials to begin counting absentee ballots as soon their offices open instead of having to wait until polls close at 7:00 tonight. However, no results will be announced until after the polls close.
*And join us right here tonight and keep up with the vote count. We’ll have links to local, state, and national returns starting at 7:00 which will be continuously updated as long as necdssary.
