HCSO: Motorcyclist pops a wheelie at 70 mph, ends up in jail

A Dahlonega teen is free on bond following his arrest after Hall County sheriff’s deputies say they saw him do a wheelie in traffic on a busy North Hall road. At about 70 mph. At night.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“Just after 7:30 p.m. (Wednesday), two deputies on patrol on Thompson Bridge Road near the intersection of Mount Vernon Road observed a motorcycle driver, later identified as 18-year-old Ridge Riley Wagemaker, travel past them at an estimated 70 mph and then perform a ‘wheelie’ with his bike. Several other vehicles were traveling in the area at the time.

One of the deputies notified a third deputy who was on patrol north of them, asking him to be on the lookout for Wagemaker. The third deputy was able to locate Wagemaker on Old Dahlonega Highway near Shadow Oaks Road and conducted a traffic stop. Wagemaker was arrested at the scene for reckless stunt driving. He was also charged with failure to display a license plate on his motorcycle.

Wagemaker was released from the Hall County Jail after paying a bond of $1,430.”
