Drug distribution charges; 7 arrested in NE Ga. teen’s murder

*A 55-year-old man remained in the Hall County Jail Saturday morning after being arrested Thursday on a number of charges including drug distribution, possession of methamphetamine, and probation violation. Other details on this case are not likely until Monday when the Hall County Sheriff’s Office administrative offices reopen after the weekend.

*Bond has been set at $28,700 for a 31-year-old man arrested by Gainesville Police on charges that include possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Jarrod Hicks was arrested Thursday. What led to his arrest? “Subject allegedly was walking around with a gun in a reckless manner, he had illegal drugs on his person,” police spokesman Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email Friday. “Was arrested without incident.”

*(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – Seven suspects are now in custody after a teen was found shot to death in her car in northeast Georgia last month. The suspects include three teenage girls and a teenage boy. 19-year-old Mallory Ward in Ellijay was found on South Main Street in Ellijay Sept. 18. Police say the shooting was part of a group involved in armed robberies between Ellijay and Jasper. No other details were immediately available.
