UPDATE: Altercation between football players leads to charges against both

Two members of the East Hall High School (EHHS) football team face charges following that incident Wednesday in which one of them stabbed the other.

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NEWS RELEASE:

“The teens, ages 14 and 16, were in the locker room at East Hall Stadium following
afternoon practice when the altercation occurred.

According to the preliminary investigation by Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO)
investigators, the 16-year-old student approached the 14-year-old at his locker and picked
him up by his shoulder pads, slamming him into the locker. The 14-year-old retaliated and
stabbed the older teen with a pair of scissors. The 16-year-old suffered a stab wound to his
leg as well as superficial lacerations to other parts of his body.

At this time, the 14-year-old is in custody at the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention
Center (RYDC), charged with aggravated assault and affray. The 16-year-old was charged
with simple battery and affray. Following medical treatment for his injuries, the 16-year
old was released to the custody of his parents.”

The investigation in the case is ongoing.”
