HCSO NEWS RELEASE:
“A Forsyth County man was being held without bond in the Hall County Jail on Tuesday, Aug. 22, following a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigation into a child molestation incident last month.
HCSO deputies transported Joseph T. Satterfield, 34, of Cumming, from the Forsyth County Jail to Hall County on Monday, Aug. 21, to face felony charges of sexual battery and child molestation.
The investigation began on Wednesday, July 12, when HCSO deputies responded to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville where a family member had taken the victim for evaluation.
According to the preliminary investigation, the family member, victim and Satterfield spent the night at a residence off of Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway in the Chicopee area. The family member awoke to find Satterfield inappropriately touching the victim, a female child under the age of 16. The family member confronted Satterfield, and he left the residence.
The case remains under investigation by HCSO.”
A spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Satterfield was in the Forsyth County Jail because Forsyth authorities had picked him up on the Hall County warrants “since he lives there.”
