(GA. NEWS NETWORK) – A woman is expected to be okay after she was rescued from the Chattahoochee National Forest Sunday – one day after a similar incident in Rabun County.
The state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) sent a helicopter to Panther Creek Falls early Sunday afternoon.
An extraction team found the 66-year-old, who had been injured, and transported her to a fire station in Clarkesville before she was taken to a hospital in Habersham County.
It was the second rescue of the holiday weekend in the forest. Saturday, a DNR helicopter was used to help rescue a man from the bottom of Tallulah Gorge. He was having heart problems.
