A retired longtime building inspector for Gainesville and Hall County has died. Bill Stephens, Sr., died Thursday. He was 94.
Stephens worked first as Building Inspector for the city. After the merger of the City and Hall County inspection departments, he became the County Chief Building Inspector. He retired from the Hall County Building Inspection Department in 1994 after 34 years of service to the city and county.
