HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators implicated a Powder Springs man this week in a July incident involving sex crimes against a juvenile victim.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Service Unit deputies took Tyson Daryl Washington, 22, into custody on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 17, at the Cobb County Jail, on the HCSO warrants. (EDITOR’S NOTE: A spokesman for HCSO says it’s his understanding that Washington was in the Marietta jail because Cobb authorities had arrested him on the Hall County warrants.)
According to the initial investigation, Washington committed the crimes against the female victim, who is under the age of 16, during an approximately 3:30 a.m. incident on July 16 off of Whitehall Road near Lula. He is charged with child molestation and statutory rape, both felonies, for the incident. Washington and the victim were acquainted prior to the crime.
HCSO began investigating the incident on July 16, after speaking with a family member of the victim.
Washington is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. HCSO continues to investigate the case.”
