UPDATE 2. GPD: Accused rapist’s crimes not a one-time thing

WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE:

Gainesville Police have released more information about the case of a Gainesville man, Kenley Alvin Desir, 53, who was arrested a few days ago on several sex-related charges involving a young girl.

“The rapist was charged after a child related to him came forward advising of sexual misconduct over many years,” police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said late Tuesday.

Desir remained in the Hall County Jail Tuesday night. No bond has been set.

MONDAY NIGHT UPDATE: A 53-year-old Gainesville man, Kenley Alvin Desir, accused of rape and several other sex-related charges involving a young girl remained in the Hall County Jail Monday night without bond.

But Gainesville Police did not release any new information on the case Monday.

“Report not complete at this time,” is all spokesman Kevin Holbrook would say in an email response to a request for more information.

EARLIER STORY. POSTED SUNDAY AFTERNOON: (A) rape charge was filed against a 53-year-old man who is also charged with sodomy (2 counts), aggravated sodomy (2 counts), incest, aggravated child molestation, and cruelty to children in the first degree. He’s being held without bond in the Hall County Jail following his Saturday arrest.
