(FROM GA. NEWS NETWORK & SRN NEWS) – Georgia’s GOP-aligned elections board wants to place a controversial sign outside polling places this election cycle. The sign would read “U.S. CITIZENS ONLY.” The board voted 3-1 to email the sign to 159 counties in the state. Voting rights groups say the signs could intimidate legitimate voters from casting ballots. Georgia already checks the citizenship status of residents when they register to vote. Voters are also already required to show ID before voting.
