Hall minutes book, circa 1800s, restored thanks to county employee

Twelve weeks ago, a Hall County minute record book and disbursement book from the late 1800s were falling apart and in rough condition.

In order to preserve the history, Commission Clerk Jennifer Rivera sent the books to a company for historic data preservation.

The company deep cleaned each page, protected them individually, and enclosed the pages in a (nearly) indestructible book casing.

“Preserving historical data is important for our citizens, because it allows us to look back on decisions made by former government officials,” Rivera said. “It’s an honor to be able to ensure people have that same opportunity for years to come.”
