Clayton couple charged with Hall Co. theft

Two Clayton residents, Sherry Kay Ellis, 51, and Tommy Alan Gurley, 49, were arrested Wednesday by Hall County authorities, outside a house on Fuller Road in Talmo and charged with criminal trespass.

The homeowner was home just after 11:30 a.m. when she heard voices outside of her residence and then heard someone knocking on the door and attempting to enter the house. The homeowner called 911, and when deputies arrived, they found Ellis and Gurley on the front porch, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects are believed to have taken a taxi to the house. They had unloaded some belongings at the house, which were retrieved by deputies. At this time, there is no information on why the pair attempted to enter the home. Each is charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass. Each is being held on a bond of $1,300.”
