The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is continuing its investigation into the recent armed robbery of a convenience store just north of Clermont.
At approximately 10 p.m. last Thursday, deputies responded to the Mobil gas station at 6819 Cleveland Highway. They did a safety check on the victim, a female store clerk.
“According to the initial investigation, a male suspect walked into the store and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash from the register while he (suspect) was holding a knife,” sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth said Monday. “He then left the store and the property on foot. The clerk did not suffer any injuries.”
Investigators responded, while deputies canvassed the surrounding area and a K9 team tracked the suspect. The initial attempts to locate and identify the man were unsuccessful.
“The suspect is described only as tall and slender,” Booth added. “He was wearing a black, puffer-style jacket with the hood up. He had blue fabric covering most of his face and was wearing black pants and dark-colored slide-on shoes.”
