There has been little change in the amount of the state affected by the current drought or the intensity.
The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) says drought conditions exist in 90 percent of the state with only a few counties in southeast and east central Georgia unaffected.
The intensity of the drought in some places has eased a bit. But most of north Georgia, including Hall County, remain “moderately” dry.
There are pockets of “severely dry” conditions in middle and west Georgia and along the Georgia-Tennessee and Georgia-North Carolina state lines.
Meanwhile, the level of Lake Lanier remains slightly above summertime full pool which is 107.0. Thursday morning the reading was 1070.2.
