Arrest made in Buford area church vandalism

Gwinnett County Police have charged a Hoschton man with vandalizing a number of churches in the Buford area Tuesday.

GWINNETT CO. POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

“On July 9, officers assigned to our North precinct responded to several calls from churches in the Buford area reporting property damage.

Video surveillance captured the suspect using a tool to smash multiple windows at four different places of worship. Officers assigned to our North precinct Community Response Team were able to utilize Flock cameras in the area to locate the suspect vehicle.

David Rangel (age 41, Hoschton) was taken into custody and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail without incident. David Rangel is charged with four counts of vandalism to a place of worship, four counts of criminal damage to property in the second, and four counts of possession of tools for commission of a crime.”
