Hall K9 team aids in capture of Jackson Co. escapee

An escapee from the Jackson County Work Release Program was recaptured Tuesday with the help of a K9 team from Hall County.

About noon, officers from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division, Hall County, Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 Unit, Appalachian Drug Task Force and Jackson County Corrections captured Colton Pass.

Pass had been sentenced to Jackson County’s Corrections Work Release Program, a deferment program that is designed to provide an alternative to prison for low level crimes.

Pass walked away from his place of employment May 24 and had been on the run ever since.

Authorities did not say where he was captured or what he was serving time for.
