Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have charged two suspects following an altercation at a homeless camp in Gainesville that left two people, including one of the offenders, with injuries.
The incident was reported on Tuesday around 3 p.m.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“When deputies arrived at the scene in the area of Georgia Avenue near the Queen City Parkway Bridge, they found one male victim who said he became involved in a verbal argument with two men. The offenders, who were armed with handguns, brandished the weapons at the victim. The three then got into a physical fight. The victim was struck in the head with a piece of wood and one of the handguns; one of the offenders was stabbed multiple times.
The injured offender, identified as Dexter Barnard Pulliam, 53, was hospitalized with stab wounds. HCSO investigators have taken warrants for felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor battery for Pulliam. He will be transported to the Hall County Jail upon his release from the hospital. Pulliam lives in the homeless camp where the altercation occurred.
The second suspect, Damond Jarquice Cantrell, 38, of Sautee-Nacoochee, was tracked to a location on McConnell Drive and arrested on a single charge of felony aggravated assault. Cantrell is also being held on an outstanding warrant out of Nevada. Law enforcement seized two firearms when they arrested Cantrell.”
