Flowery Branch officials say it is taking some water service payments as much as a month to reach them “due to the United States Postal Service delay….causing penalties and even cutoffs.” And they are urging customers who have been using “bill pay” to take a number of precautions if they continue to do so.
They include verifying the mailing address for city hall which is no longer a post office box but is 5410 Pine Street and sending payments at least three weeks before the due date, emphasizing that the city is not responsible for the mail delays.
And in a Facebook posting recently they included several additional payment options: In person, city hall drop box, online, and by phone. Debit/Credit card payments are accepted online, in person or by phone but additional fees apply.
