Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators this week charged an 82-year-old Gainesville man with child molestation following an investigation that began earlier this year. Investigators arrested Homer Jones, 82, after an interview at sheriff’s office headquarters Monday.
According to the initial investigation, Jones touched the victim’s breast at her North Hall home between April and August 2021. The victim was under 16 at the time. Jones knew her prior to the incident.
The investigation began March 26 when the victim disclosed the crime to a school resource officer and a school nurse.
Jones is currently being held without bond.
