If the latest advisory and forecast from the weather service for our area holds, we are in for seven days and seven nights of rain – beginning today.
“Showers and thunderstorms possible nearly every day this week,” the advisory says. “Chances increase from the north and west, spreading south and east, through Friday. Chances peak each day in the afternoon and evening before decreasing overnight and in the early morning hours.
“Areas of heavy rainfall will be possible with local amounts well over 1″ possible each day, though other areas may simultaneously receive little to no rainfall. Temperatures remain mostly consistent with highs mostly in the 80s to near 90 each day. Lows in the 60s to near 70.”
