*A west Gainesville woman reports losing $5,000 in an apparent burglary at her home. The 75-year-old told police the money was in a safe under her bed in her apartment and was taken between Feb. Feb. 8 and Sunday. Police say there was no sign of forced entry.
*Three men remained in the Hall County Jail Monday night following their Sunday arrests on charges of loitering or prowling. A Gainesville Police spokesman says they were drunk and were arrested after police received calls from people on Summit Street saying, “that they were knocking on apartment doors.” Emmanuel Marcos Santizo, 18; Andres Mendoza Lucas, 27; and Andres Lucas Domingo, 30, are each also being held for immigration authorities, according to jail records.
