The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit has charged a Gainesville man with 400 additional counts of sexual exploitation of children in an ongoing investigation.
HCSO NEWS RELEASE:
“Investigators recently completed forensic screening of a cell phone and computer that belongs to the suspect, Benjamin Larmar Gudmundson, 32. Investigators found more than 400 images and/or videos depicting a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Investigators obtained the warrant for the additional charges on Monday,
Gudmundson has been in custody since last May, when investigators arrested him during the execution of a search warrant at his residence. They seized several electronic devices and initially charged Gudmundson with 20 felony counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The investigation began last February after investigators received two cybertips from the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Processing of Gudmundson’s electronics is continuing. He remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.”
