4 injured in 2 Hall Co. house fires

Four people were injured in two house fires in Hall County Sunday and firefighters had more than just fire and smoke to deal with while fighting one of them.

HALL CO. FIRE RESCUE (HCFR) NEWS RELEASE:

“…units from Hall County Fire Rescue responded to a late morning fire in the 4000 block of Melinda Lane, in south Hall.

Upon arrival fire crews found a single story single family dwelling with heavy fire involvement on the interior. This fire was brought under control very quickly with an aggressive interior attack.

Prior to fire personnel arriving,  neighbors assisted three individuals exit the home through windows. These three were transported for evaluation of minor injuries, while three pets could not be saved.

There were no firefighters injured and a fire investigator with Hall County Fire Rescue is still on scene attempting to determine the cause of the blaze.”

HALL FIRE RESCUE NEWS RELEASE:

“(Later) units responded to the 4000 block of Stephens Rd in Oakwood and arrived on scene to a single family dwelling with smoke coming from the street side. Attack lines were advanced inside the home and the fire was extinguished quickly.

It’s unclear how many people reside at the address, however one person was treated on the scene for minor injuries and the Red Cross was called for assistance. Along with fighting fire, first arriving personnel had to contend with several individuals attempting to gain entry into the burning structure to save the pets. The pets were safely removed and survived.

No report of firefighter injury and investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.”
