Three people escaped serious injury in a three-vehicle traffic accident on Browns Bridge Road just inside Hall County during afternoon rush hour Wednesday. The state patrol says a trooper responded to the call about 4:15 to the road’s intersection with Old 141 Road, which is just before the bridge.
STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
Upon arrival, the investigating Trooper determined a 2013 Mazda Sedan driven by Daniel Carrillo, 19, of Buford, was traveling east on SR 369. Mr. Carrillo was driving while fatigued and dozed off, failed to maintain his lane and crossed the centerline into westbound traffic.
Mr. Carrillo struck the front left bumper of a westbound 2017 Ford F-150 with the front left bumper of the Mazda. The F-150 was driven by Bryan Hakemoller, 37, of Cumming. Mr. Carrillo continued eastbound in the westbound lane and struck the left side of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Billy Tow, 29, of Cumming, with the left side of the Mazda.
The Mazda came to an uncontrolled final rest in the middle of Brown’s Bridge Road. The F-150 continued west and traveled off of the roadway onto the north shoulder. The Silverado came to a controlled final rest on the south shoulder of the road.
Mr. Hakemoller was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both Mr. Carrillo and Mr. Tow sustained minor injuries and refused medical transport.
Mr. Carrillo was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Lane.
