200+ drug charges filed following traffic stop in Flowery Branch

A Lawrenceville man remained in the Hall County Jail Monday night following his Friday after a traffic stop in Flowery Branch led to the discovery of suspected illegal drugs and drug‑related objects, police said Monday.

A Flowery Branch officer stopped a vehicle driven by Victor Padilla, 27, near Phil Niekro Boulevard and Interstate 985 for following another vehicle too closely. During the investigation, officers said they found 19 suspected THC vape products, numerous drug‑related items, and determined Padilla was operating the vehicle while impaired.

Padilla was taken into custody and charged with 19 counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, 196 counts of possession of drug‑related objects, and following too closely.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office HEAT Unit assisted Flowery Branch police with the DUI investigation.
