2 from Gville facing drug charges in SC; high economic marks for Gville; scholarships for 4 Gville library workers

*Gainesville ranks third among small cities in the Milken Institute’s annual list of Best Performing Cities. The study highlights areas with high wages, jobs, and a thriving tech sector. 

*The Greenville, S.C., Drug Task Force reports the arrests of two Gainesville residents on drug charges after a traffic stop that yielded 22 pounds of methamphetamine. Raquel Gonzalez, 25, and Angel James Perez, 20, are each being held on two-million-dollar bonds. Both are facing several counts of trafficking meth.

*Four employees of the Hall County Library System have been awarded Hall County Library Staff Scholarships by Friends of the Hall County Library. The scholarships are to be used to help them complete their Masters in Library Science degrees. They are McKenzie Baldwin, Hannah Bruce, Rachel Buckley, and Troy Young.
