18-wheelers filled with tires burn; extra firefighters called to the scene

An early morning fire in South Hall Wednesday destroyed two tractor-trailers loaded with tires. According to Hall County Fire Rescue (HCFR) the call came in about 5:30 to the 4100 block of W White Road.

HCFR NEWS RELEASE:

“Upon arrival, personnel found two tractor-trailers engulfed in flames with approximately 500 tires, not including the tires surrounding the exterior of the trailers.

Due to the size of the fire and the amount of tires burning, the call was upgraded to a residential assignment, which sent additional engines to the scene. Aerial operations were utilized to extinguish the remaining flames.

No one was found in or outside the trailers. All personnel were accounted for and uninjured. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time and under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.”
