Capstone Property Group, the developer of the Courtyard by Mariott hotel in downtown Gainesville, has its eye on a piece of property in West Hall where it hopes to develop a lakeside resort that would include a 177-room hotel.
According to Capstone’s Development of Regional Impact (DRI) application with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), the project is slated for completion by 2028 and would be located at the end of Ivey Road (3070 Ivey Road) off Browns Bridge Road.
In addition to the hotel, amenities would include a “high-end” restaurant, cafe, poolside bar, lakeside bar, spa, fitness center, and 15,000+ square feet of meeting space. Seven cottages, 28 estate homes, walking trails, an event pavilion, and a sports pavilion would round-out the development.
