14-acre site in Flowery Branch chosen for new subdivision

The Flowery Branch City Council is scheduled to consider a request for a 14-acre subdivision in the 5400 block of Railroad Street when it meets Thursday night.

Edge City Properties says in its application it is seeking a rezoning of the site from R-I (Residential One) to R-II (Residential Two). The application states that Edge City plans to build 40 single-family homes on the site, noting that it is bounded on three sides by residential developments. The houses would be “a mixture of two-story” dwellings.

The acreage set aside for the development “is two combined parcels,” according to the application. One is just less than an acre in size. The other is a little over 13 acres.
