Rich McCormick (R-Suwanee), whose district now includes Lumpkin and part of Hall County, has one of the two largest campaign war chests among all Georgia congressional candidates. The other belongs to Lucy McBath (D-Marietta).
According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), McBath has raised more than $1.5 million during the 2024 election cycle. McCormick is not far behind at $1.4 million.
McBath has challengers in her party’s primary while the there is one candidate in the GOP Primary in the district which leans heavily Democratic.
McCormick has no primary opposition in his district which tilts toward the GOP. The lone candidate in the Democratic Primary is Bob Christian of Dawsonville.
