WHHS names new head football coach

West Hall High School officials are recommending Naji Lyon as the school’s new Head Football Coach.

Lyon is currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach at Lumpkin County High School. He brings extensive experience and a distinguished record of transforming football programs throughout North Georgia, WHHS officials say.

WHHS NEWS RELEASE:

“During his tenure at Lumpkin County High School, Coach Lyon has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the team, leading them to three playoff appearances and five playoff games over the past three seasons. Under his leadership, the team has achieved some of the most successful seasons in the school’s history. Coach Lyon’s coaching expertise extends beyond Lumpkin County. He has significantly contributed to the resurgence of football programs at Gainesville High School and Winder-Barrow High School, where his efforts culminated in a second-round playoff appearance.

In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach Lyon is an accomplished educator. He has been honored as Teacher of the Year in Literature, demonstrating his excellence in teaching. Renowned for his energetic coaching style and positive approach, Coach Lyon has spent 17 seasons under the mentorship of Coach Heath Webb, establishing a reputation for fostering team culture and transforming programs.

The ultimate decision on the recommendation will be made by the Hall County Board of Education.
