Week-long burglary investigation leads to arrest

Property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have arrested a suspect in a burglary that occurred last week at an Atlanta Highway business.

According to investigators, Damond Jarquice Cantrell, 39, who is homeless, broke into an outbuilding at Lara’s Truck Sales just before 10:45 p.m. on May 8. “During the course of the burglary, the suspect stole two pressure washers and an air compressor,” spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “The business owner was able to provide surveillance camera footage of the incident to investigators, leading to the identification of Mr. Cantrell.”

The suspect was arrested at a location on Dorsey Street on Wednesday. He was taken to the Hall County Jail on a single charge of burglary in the second degree. Cantrell remains in jail with no bond.
