*Did you know there’s a special statewide election coming up in Georgia next month? For Public Service Commission. And the deadline to register for those not already registered to vote in Georgia is next Monday. The election, actually two primaries, is June 17. The winners of the primaries will then face each other in a special election in November.

*Atlanta is second only to Orlando in the country as the best travel destination this summer. That’s according to WalletHub which compared 100 metro areas across 41 key indicators of budget- and fun-friendliness. The data set ranges from the cost of the cheapest flight to the number of attractions to the average price of a two-person meal.

*(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – Authorities in Dalton have dropped charges against a teenager being detained by federal immigration officers after they determined she had been pulled over by mistake. She remains in ICE custody and still faces deportation. The teen — 19-year-old Ximena Arias-Cristobal — had been pulled over May 5 for making an improper turn but dashcam video shows police pulled over the wrong car. Her arrest and the arrest of another immigrant generated protests by the Party for Socialism.
