UW honors Masseys; Free wood chips; Annual Block Party is Thurs.

*United Way of Hall County recently presented its Give Award to the late Abit and Kayanne Massey – two individuals the agency says “who dedicated their lives to building a stronger Hall County. Their generosity wasn’t just financial—it was heartfelt, consistent, and deeply rooted in a belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive.” Their son, Lewis Massey, accepted the award on behalf of the family.

*Habersham County is offering free wood chips at the county landfill, and you don’t have to be a county resident to pick them up. The hours are 9:00-3:00 Monday-Friday and 8:00-11:30 Saturdays. The landfill is located at 900 Dicks Hill Parkway, Mt. Airy.

*The 5th Annual Downtown Gainesville Public Art Block Party is Thursday at Roosevelt Square. Sponsored by Vision 2030, a division of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, it will be held 6:00-10:00. More details including ticket information can be found here: Events
