UPDATE: Additional help arrives for JEMC linemen

Nearly all of Jackson EMC’s 271,000 members now have power restored.

As of 9:30 p.m. Monday, there were 52 outages affecting approximately 80 members. Twelve of those outages remain from Saturday’s storm, while the remaining 68 are the result of storms that swept through the electric co-op’s service area Monday afternoon. 

As of 9:30 p.m., the remaining outages were impacting members in the following counties: 

  • Madison (53) 
  • Jackson (14) 
  • Hall (6) 
  • Clarke (4) 
  • Barrow (1) 
  • Lumpkin (1) 
  • Oglethorpe (1) 

In addition to continued assistance from Marietta Power, Flint Energies, Palmetto Electric Cooperative (SC), Pike Electric, Gridco, and Power Grid, “we welcomed additional crews today from Cobb EMC, Jefferson Energy and Washington EMC,” a Jackson EMC spokeswoman said Monday night.
